Privacy Policy

For the thejayant.in website and blog. Last updated .

Summary: If you only read the site, I collect analytics about your visit and — on blog posts only — Google serves advertising. If you fill in the contact form, I receive what you typed so I can reply. I do not sell your data, I do not run a newsletter list you were not asked about, and I do not create accounts. The two things that place cookies are Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and both can be turned off.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to https://thejayant.in — the portfolio site, the blog, and the Automations and Marketer Companion information pages.

It does not cover the Marketer Companion Chrome extension, which handles Google account data under its own separate policy: Marketer Companion extension privacy policy.

Who I am: Jayant Solanki, an independent SEO, GEO and automation consultant based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. I am the data controller for this site. Contact: solankijay01@gmail.com.

What I collect, and why

1. Information you send me through the contact form

The contact form asks for your name, email address, website, country, the service you are interested in, and your message. Those fields are submitted to Formspree, a third-party form processor, which forwards them to my email inbox.

  • Why: to read your enquiry and reply to it.
  • Legal basis (where GDPR applies): steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
  • Where it goes: Formspree's servers, then my email. Formspree processes it on my behalf under its own privacy policy.
  • How long: enquiries stay in my email while the conversation is active and for up to 24 months afterwards, so I can pick up a thread you started. Ask me and I will delete yours sooner.

Please do not send confidential credentials — passwords, API keys or analytics logins — through the contact form. If we work together, I will ask for access through the proper sharing mechanism in each platform.

2. Analytics about your visit

The site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics 4. This records things like the pages you viewed, roughly how long you stayed, the referring source, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type.

  • Why: to see which articles are read and which are ignored, and to fix pages that are not working.
  • Legal basis (where GDPR applies): consent where required, otherwise legitimate interest in understanding site usage.
  • How long: per the retention setting on the GA4 property; aggregate reporting is retained indefinitely.

Analytics data is aggregated. I do not use it to identify individual visitors, and I do not attempt to link it to the contact form.

3. Advertising — blog posts only

Google AdSense is enabled on blog post pages only. It does not run on the homepage, the blog index, the Automations page, the Marketer Companion page, or this policy — ad requests are actively suppressed on those pages in the site's code, not merely left unconfigured.

  • Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone's prior visits to this website.

I do not receive your personal data from Google's advertising systems. I see aggregate earnings and performance reporting only.

4. Server and hosting records

The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. This is standard infrastructure logging and I do not use it for marketing.

5. What I do not do

  • No accounts, no logins, no passwords on this site.
  • No newsletter list, and no adding you to one because you filled in the contact form.
  • No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
  • No payment details collected on this site.
  • No session recording, heatmapping or mouse-tracking tools.

Cookies and similar technologies

Three categories of cookie may be set:

  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager, to measure site usage.
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense and its partners, on blog post pages only, to select and measure ads.
  • Essential technical data — used by the host to deliver pages. No tracking cookie is required for the site to work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not break this site: nothing here depends on a cookie to function.

A note on consent for EEA, UK and Swiss visitors: where the law requires prior consent for analytics and advertising cookies, that consent should be collected before those scripts run. If you are visiting from a region with such a requirement and no consent banner was presented to you, you can prevent both categories immediately by blocking third-party cookies in your browser or using the opt-out links above, and you can email me to have any data associated with your visit removed.

Third parties that receive or process data

  • Google — Tag Manager, Analytics 4, AdSense and Fonts. Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google when a font is fetched.
  • Formspree — processes contact form submissions and forwards them to my inbox.
  • Netlify — hosting and content delivery.
  • Calendly — only if you choose to book a call. Whatever you enter there is handled by Calendly under its own policy.
  • WhatsApp / Meta — only if you choose to start a WhatsApp conversation using the link on this site.

Links to X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, WhatsApp, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Mode appear on blog posts as share and summary buttons. These are ordinary links. They do not load any tracking script and nothing is sent anywhere unless you click one — at which point you are on that company's site under its policy.

Because these providers operate globally, your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Each operates under its own transfer safeguards.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can email me at solankijay01@gmail.com and ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. I will not ask you to justify the request.

Depending on where you live you may have specific statutory rights:

  • India (DPDP Act, 2023): access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination.
  • EEA and UK (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

For anything held by Google, Formspree, Calendly or Netlify, I will pass your request on and tell you what happened.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and marketing professionals. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent me personal data through the contact form, email me and I will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS with security headers including X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options and a restrictive Permissions-Policy that disables geolocation, microphone and camera access. Contact enquiries live in my email account, which is protected by two-factor authentication.

No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I will not claim otherwise. If a breach affecting your data occurs, I will tell you and the relevant authority as required by law.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top changes with it. Substantive changes — a new processor, a new category of data — will be described here rather than folded in silently. This version replaced an earlier policy that covered only the Marketer Companion extension; that document still exists, unchanged in substance, at /marketer-companion-privacy.
